Sarah’s Story
On Sunday 3rd October 2021 I will be taking part in the Virtual London Marathon in memory of my Dad and to raise money for The Oesophageal Patients Association.
The Virtual Marathon still requires me to complete 26.2 miles on the day but I can do this in my local area and to paraphrase the great Frank Sinatra, one of Dad’s favourites, I can do it My Way!
Unlike the proper runners doing the proper Marathon, I will be trotting, skipping, dancing, but mostly walking my way around the 26.2 miles.
Dad was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in 2016. At the time we found very little information available to help us find ways to manage the effects of the disease until I found The Oesophageal Patients Association.
The Oesophageal Patients Association has gone from strength to strength and now provides a wealth of information for patients and their families. I’d like to help make sure that anyone faced with this diagnosis continues to have these valuable resources available to them.
Please support my crazy endeavour to raise funds for this much needed organisation and feel free to come and trot, skip, dance, walk with me for a mile or 2 and remember my Dad.
With thanks,
Sarah x
